Sports project provides classes in
volleyball in schools in the region of Sorocaba
Initiative is carried out by the NGO Vivendo Esporte with support from CCR ViaOeste and Instituto CCR in schools in Sorocaba, São Roque, Mairinque and Alumínio
Five centers for training children and adolescents for volleyball will begin activities in the coming weeks in Sorocaba, São Roque, Mairinque and Alumínio.
The project is developed by the NGO Vivendo Esporte with support from CCR ViaOeste and Instituto CCR, through the Federal Law of Incentive to Sport. The project is led by former player of the Brazilian Volleyball Team, Ronaldo Henrique, known on the courts as Royal.
The objective of the project is to give children and adolescents the opportunity to promote educational sports activities. Volleyball classes will take place in the after-school shift, in mixed teams (male and female), aged between 6 and 16 years.
Sorocaba, there will be two nuclei and in the other cities the project will be executed in one unit per municipality. There will be up to 60 vacancies per nucleus, which totals 300 young people involved with the project in the region. To participate, you must be enrolled in the public education network.
“More than simply promoting a sports workshop to assist in the education process, we seek through this initiative to reduce the situation of exclusion and social risk of children and adolescents. Sport favors the construction of personal and social knowledge and also helps in the formation of values for these children and young people”, highlights Royal. “With the project, we also seek greater control over school attendance and lower student repetition rates”, he adds.
